WWE Raw Results 5/28/12
Video: WWE opens with a Video Package in honor of Memorial Day, honoring those who gave their lives for the United States, very classy move by the WWE.
Video: Another video package this time highlighting the events from Raw last week between Cena, John Laurinaitis, and The Big Show.
Promo: The Big Show comes strutting down to the ring in a new suit. Big Show cuts a typical heel promo getting tons of heat from the fans. The fans start cheering for Cena. Show claims he now has an Iron Clad contract now and can get away with doing whatever he wants. Big Show goes on to whine about how no one was sympathetic when he got fired two weeks ago. Brings up video footage of R-Truth/Kingston/Clay dancing in the ring with kids claims he’s disappointed in all the fans. Goes on to say the person he’s most disappointed in is John Cena.
Claims that he thought Cena was going to fight for him two weeks ago when he got fired and demand that he be rehired. Goes on to cut a promo about his match against Cena at No Way Out, this entire promo is going on way too long.
Singles Match (Non-Title) – Alberto Del Rio defeated the United States Champion Santino Marella in a squash match via submission.
Backstage Segment: Alex Riley is seen backstage hitting on Eve Torres. Big Show the two, Eve tells Show he gets to pick his opponent tonight. Looks like Show is going to pick Riley, Riley tries to back out of the match. Show claims he’s not going to pick him tonight but is going to do this. He slams Alex Riley into the wall.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: R-Truth & Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger & Dolph Ziggler via pinfall to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Backstage Segment: Featuring Big Show bullying Santino Marella. Brodus Clay comes to the rescue. Big Show picks Brodus Clay as his opponent for tonight.
Promo: John Laurinaitis in his scooter along with Eve Torres & David Otunga make their way toward the ring. Goes on to cut a promo about him being on the cover of WWE’13. Reveals a mock cover of WWE’13 with him on the cover, CM Punk comes out to interrupt Laurinaitis. And reveals that Laurinaitis is not on the cover but CM Punk, Punk reveals the WWE’13 cover to the fans. Punk tells Laurinaitis to get out of his ring. Laurinaitis leaves the ring but wishes him good luck.
Singles Match (Non-Title): Daniel Bryan defeated CM Punk via pinfall. AJ Lee posed a major distraction for both competitors during the match. This lead to Bryan exposing the top turnbuckle, Punk went for his shinning Wizard Clothesline combo but ran straight into the exposed turnbuckle. After the match Kane attacked Daniel Bryan with a chair. Kane then set his sights on Punk, but Punk grabbed a chair and was able to repel Kane back.
Punk celebrates in the ring while AJ Lee gives him a “crazy girl” crush look.
Singles Match: Christian defeated The Miz via pinfall. Cody Rhodes was on commentary, he attempted to get involved in the match but it backfired.
Backstage Segment: Featuring John Laurinaitis, Eve, and David Otunga. Laurinaitis is upset with the two over the whole CM Punk fiasco. He also is upset with them over the fact Eve was suppose to make Sheamus apologize on Smackdown but it never happened. David Otunga is put into a match with Sheamus tonight claiming he’ll make Sheamus apologize.
Promo: The Miz is still in the ring after his loss to Christian. Ranting about how he wants that match stricken from the records. Miz goes on to make a list of demands saying where his iron clad contract is, where’s his title matches are, where’s all these perks everyone on Team Johnny got. Claiming despite getting the win for Team Johnny he’s getting the shaft. Randy Orton comes out of nowhere and hits The Miz with an RKO.
Backstage Segment: With Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero, Dolph claims the only way to make him happy is to get him out of “this tag team” points to the fact he should be out there like Orton. Vickie claims she’ll see what she can do.
Video Package: WWE runs the same Video Package featuring Cena thanking the US soldiers on Memorial Day. WWE seems to run the same video every year come this day.
Singles Match (Non-Title): Sheamus defeated David Otunga via pinfall in a squash match.
Announcement: It’s announced that John Cena vs. Big Show at No Way Out will be a steel cage match.
Video Package: Another Video Package featuring Show knocking out John Cena last week.
Main Event – Singles Match: Brodus Clay vs. Big Show never gets started. Show cuts a promo on Clay then spears him outside the ring. Show destroys Brodus Clay ringside. Kofi Kingston & R-Truth come out in an attempt to save Clay to no avail. Big Show then smashes the announce table with his fist, uses part of the announce table and smashes it into Clay. Big Show then throws Kofi Kingston straight through the security barrier. He then throws R-Truth through the metal steps.
Big Show sets his sights on Brodus Clay again and hits him with a knockout punch. Show looks at the destruction he’s caused and stares out into the audience as he leaves the arena while his music plays. He walks up the ramp and has his hand raise by John Laurinaitis as Raw goes off the air.
